A cobblestone driveway apron on Martha's Vineyard is a band of granite cobbles where the driveway meets the road, set on a compacted gravel base deep enough to carry cars through freeze and thaw. Infinity also installs cobblestone driveway borders, drip edges and bed edging in reclaimed or new granite, across all six island towns.

One or two rows of cobble along the sides of a gravel or asphalt driveway or parking pad hold the edge, keep gravel out of the lawn and give the drive a finished line.

Reclaimed granite cobblestone carries the weathering and color of stone that paved New England streets for generations. Each piece is slightly different, which gives an apron an old, settled look. Supply varies, so we source it when a project calls for it.
New granite cobblestone is quarried and split to more consistent sizes, which gives tighter, more even joint lines and a cleaner look for newer homes.
Belgian block is a cut, more rectangular granite block with flatter faces. It is common for aprons and curb-style borders where a straighter line and a smoother surface for tires are wanted.

An apron carries cars, so it gets a vehicle-rated base: excavation, typically 8 to 10 inches of compacted gravel, and cobbles set in a stone dust bed or in concrete where cars turn hard. A bed edging row carries almost no load and needs far less. We size the base to the job instead of using one spec for everything.
Edge restraint matters more for cobble than for flat stone, because rounded stones want to creep outward under load. A concrete haunch behind the outer row, or a border set in concrete, holds the apron together.
